EVE ARDEN.

S henever Eve Arden see a movie think so, "she wrote the dialogues of the scripts in the movies in which she participated? I'm sure that if it was not, had something of herself in each of his characters. All papers have that unmistakable touch "Arden ".

Eve Arden always highlighted in every movie he played. It was a great secondary and dialogue were always the most witty, trenchant and witty of each film in which it appeared.

few days ago, by chance I saw on TV " Mildred Pierce" ("Mildred Pierce"). A melodrama of which are no longer made, starring Joan Crawford .

A classic melodrama of the forties, directed by Michael despot Business slackers! - Curtiz where Eve Arden recreates a memorable supporting role with brief appearances, but each time it occurs, it makes me laugh and even laugh.

Joan Crawford and shoulders

When you have not yet used to the incredible and fascinating vision Adrian, costume designer, Joan Crawford accomplished , with shoulders worthy of a rugby player (Are you broader shoulders? do not disregard it. the marked! And, marcarmos more your waist!) appears Miss Arden and each of those appearances, leaving a smiling in this melodrama.

Joan Crawford, Anne Blyth and Eve Arden

Given the character's suffering of The Crawford, for the obnoxious behavior its cruel eldest daughter, Ida 's character Arden says: "Personally, Veda (daughter, Ann Blyth ) me that crocodiles are right. So eat their children. " O when you as Wally (Jack Carson ) observed while turning up the stockings "Let's get naked. Could cold!" And another example: "I like Mexico. ... It's so Mexican." All this, said by Miss Arden, is magnified.

And in "Stage Door " (Women in Theatre):

-Mary Lou (Margaret Earley): ( Shakespeare ) is the same as Hamlet esribiĆ³ .

-Eve (Eve Arden): do not know him.

-Mary Lou: You must have heard about Hamlet !

-Eve: I know so many people ...!

transcended his supporting characters and excelled in history, as happened to Thelma Ritter (it talked here.) It seemed, that either would be a good friend.

"Pillow Talk ?

also always thought that Tony Curtis was too close (which is great) to Eve Arden in her character of Josephine in Some Like it Hot ("Some Like It crazy "in Spain. What could be a title more uncouth than this? I doubt it). I recently read in The Autobiography of Curtis, who was inspired to create her Josephine.

as Tony Curtis Josephine and Jack Lemmon, Geraldine

Eve Arden as Auntie Mame in theater.
could also be Tony Curtis as Auntie Mame

And who can forget his character's head of school, McGee in Grease ?

I leave about Paper Dolls Eve Arden. You know, for a rainy afternoon. A printer scissors, a cup of tea ...
